“A year ago, I had no idea I would have had the confidence or competence to be speaking about the theology of justice and forest ecology in a room of faculty and other postdocs. The GFI series at Cornell University has been both stretching and enlightening. It has drawn me to think more deeply and intentionally about the outcomes of my research beyond scientific publications. It has prompted me to consider the lasting implications of my research for the human rights of the communities whose lives are connected to the forests I study. At the same time, in these workshops I have been inspired by ways scholars in other fields engage their scholarship in creative and compelling ways which are informed by faith.Joanna Lumbsden-Pinto”
