Steven Telian

  • John L. Kemink Professor of Neurotology in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan


His medical school and Otolaryngology residency training was undertaken at the University of Pennsylvania.  He completed fellowship training in Otology & Neurotology at the University of Michigan, and joined the faculty in 1987.  He was the Division Chief in Otology & Neurotology from 1992-2016 and continues to serve as the fellowship director for the division.  He was the Associate Chair for Clinical Affairs in the department from 2009-2014.  He received the University of Michigan Outstanding Clinician Award in 2016.  He is a Director for the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, and recently completed a 5-year term as Secretary-Treasurer of the American Otological Society.  His primary clinical research interests include hearing preservation surgery in the treatment of vestibular schwannoma, the treatment of vestibular disorders, and the application of implantable devices for the rehabilitation of hearing loss.
