Biography

Mary Szto is Teaching Professor at Syracuse University College of Law in Syracuse, New York, USA.  She teaches Contracts, Business Associations, Asian Americans and the Law, and AI Law & Ethics.

Her research areas include law and ritual in China and the US, Asian American legal history, and US property discrimination. 

She is a graduate of Wellesley College, Westminster Theological Seminary, and Columbia University School of Law.

She grew up in Queens, New York City, the daughter of Chinese refugees Paul and Clarice Szto, who founded the first Asian church there.  Prior to teaching law, she practiced commercial law in New York City.  She also co-founded a legal aid organization specializing in immigration law.
