Biography

Dorian Abbot is a professor in the Department of the Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago. He has written more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts on subjects related to extreme weather, rare event sampling, artificial intelligence, planetary dynamics, and planetary habitability. Abbot has developed multiple core science courses at the University of Chicago using innovative techniques such as active learning and flipped classrooms. These courses have been taken by thousands of undergraduates.
